Walter Bowen founded BPM Real Estate Group in 1977 with a singular owner-driven philosophy: acquire, develop, and operate high-quality real estate with long-term value in mind. Over more than four decades, his leadership has guided the successful ownership and development of a diversified portfolio spanning Class A office, multifamily, hospitality, mixed-use, and senior living assets across the western United States. Bowen has overseen the development or acquisition of more than 4,400 apartment units, 44 senior communities, and over 1.8 million square feet of office space including Block 216, Broadway Tower, and Pear West. His developments consistently deliver above-market returns through disciplined capital stewardship, strategic execution, and hands-on oversight.

A nationally recognized pioneer in senior living since the mid-1980s, Bowen helped redefine the category by focusing on vibrant, lifestyle-oriented communities. Strategic portfolio sales and reinvestment allowed BPM to expand into landmark commercial and hospitality developments, including award-winning and record-setting office and mixed-use projects in key Northwest and Southwest markets. Throughout his career, Bowen has maintained majority ownership and control of every investment—aligning decisions with accountability, performance, and long-term outcomes. This owner-first mindset is the foundation of WCB Commercial Properties and informs how we manage assets, serve clients, and create enduring value.
Walter Bowen’s philosophy is simple: think like an owner, lead with accountability, and make every decision with a long-term view toward performance, stewardship, and enduring value.
